Home is a village

Every building has its own painted room, and every neighbour keeps their own hours. Come back from the wilds to trade, to forge and to tell your tale.

Borin's smithy: the cauldron of molten metal glowing on the hearth, the anvil and the tools on the wall

Borin's smithy

Melt your ore in the cauldron, pour the ingot, and hammer the blade yourself. The better your strokes, the finer the steel.

The tavern at night: Layla behind the bar, a guest by the fire, barrels and bottles on the shelves

The tavern

Layla keeps the fire and the gossip. Milo plays at night, and the trophies of what you have slain hang on the walls.

Arden's library: shelves of books, a stained-glass window and a reading desk with an open tome

Arden's library

Have your scrolls read, learn the Words of Power, brew draughts, and fill the bestiary with every beast you meet.

Nadia's market: stalls of fruit, potions and cloth under striped awnings

Nadia's market

Buy, sell and buy back. Nadia knows the worth of every pelt and fang you bring home.

Into the wilds

Six lands in first person, each painted by hand and each with its own beasts, secrets, hidden chests and falling stars. Wake the waystones, and the world map opens.

Beasts that fight back

Over forty creatures, each with its own way of fighting: wolves that circle and lunge, boars that charge, spiders that web you from the trees, trolls whose wounds close unless your torch is on them.

Read the tell. Strike in time.

The fights are real time and they reward timing, not clicking. Every beast shows what it is about to do: answer it in the last moment and it reels.

  • Parry at the very end of a tell, and the world slows while your blows land as critical hits.
  • Step aside from a charge, raise a shield, or keep your torch to see in a night that is truly dark.
  • Thirteen skills and four stances from the village's trainers, on keys 1 to 3.
  • A fox cub named Pip who digs up what you would miss.
The hero's page in the journal: the paper doll in armour, the attributes and the title Legend
The bag in the journal: weapons, shields, armour and draughts drawn by hand

Everything you carry, drawn by hand

Your journal holds your hero, your bag, your quests, your skills and your deeds, painted like a book you would keep.

  • A hundred and ten weapons, shields and armours across ten bands, each band its own look.
  • Craft from the materials you gather and the beasts you bring down.
  • Words of Power inscribed on your gear: fire, frost, storm, venom, and stranger things.
  • Deeds and titles for what you have done, and trophies on the tavern's wall.

The arena and the ladder

Fight on the sand while the crowd roars or boos, face the six schools of gladiators, run the gauntlet, wager on others, or duel other heroes for a place on the ladder.

Fair by design

Every coin, every drop and every roll of the forge is decided on the game's own server, so nobody can write themselves a legendary sword. Play a few minutes as a guest; when you like it, sign the village register with a name and a password, and your hero is kept.
